Going to Costa Rica :
From Paris CDG, direct Air France flight every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
From Madrid, daily direct Iberia flight.
From Amsterdam, direct KLM flight on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
From Francfort, direct Lufthansa flight on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Other options with stopovers on the North American continent are also available.
Arrival Airport : Juan Santamaria International Airport, San José Costa Rica, Airport Code SJO.
Formalities :
Nationals of the European Community do not need a visa for a stay of less than 180 days.
However, they must present a passport in good condition, with a minimum validity of one day beyond the planned date of exit from Costa Rica.
However, some countries, through which travellers may transit, require passport validity of at least 6 months after the intended return date.
When entering Costa Rican territory, travelers must have:
- of a return ticket or a ticket to another destination,
- proof of accommodation in Costa Rica for the duration of the stay,
- and sufficient financial resources for the duration of their stay
For proof of on-site accommodation, provide the name of the hotel that will accommodate us in San José at the start and end of the race.
Airport – Hotel transfert :
Upon arrival, outside the terminal, our service provider will be waiting for you to transfer you to our hotel, regardless of your arrival flight.
For the 2024 edition we will be hosted in San José, by the Hotel Radisson San José , Calle Central, y Tercera, San Jose, 10604, Costa Rica, Tel (506) 201 06000.
We will be at this hotel on November 20th and 21st and will return on November 29th, so it is possible to leave luggage there for the duration of the race.
Lenght of stay :
We will look after the competitors from their arrival at San José Juan Santamaria Airport on November 20, 2024 until their departure on November 30, 2024.
For competitors wishing to arrive a day or two early, it is possible to book additional nights at the rate negotiated for the race (contact us).
Change :
The currency in Costa Rica is the Colón (CRC) but the US dollar is accepted everywhere.
It is possible to change at the airport upon arrival or at some banks near the hotel.
It is also possible to withdraw from an ATM, but be careful of possible charges.
Bivouacs :
The bivouacs from stages 1 to 4 are without beds, so it is important to bring your own self-inflating mattress and sleeping bag for these bivouacs.
Your racing luggage (ideally 80 or 100 liter bag) will be transported by us from one stage to the next.
Staff :
Throughout the race, you will be supervised by a team of around fifteen people, including a doctor, a nurse, 3 physiotherapists, 2 French firefighters and a paramedic from the Costa Rican Red Cross.
Our transfers will be carried out by private bus.
